Use a phone camera with an MCP assistant
A phone is useful when the object is on a desk, across the room, or easier to show from above than to carry to a computer. LetItSee sends a still photo when your assistant requests one. You choose when to open the camera page, grant access, frame the view, and ask for an image.
What you need
Use a phone browser that supports camera access on an HTTPS page, plus an AI client that supports a remote MCP server using Streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in, and image results. The assistant and phone page must use the same LetItSee account. Keep the phone awake and the capture page visible while you use it; mobile browsers can suspend camera access when the page is hidden or the phone is locked.
A stand or stable prop helps for hands-free work, but is optional. Place the phone so the subject is lit and fills enough of the preview. Avoid showing passwords, payment details, identity documents, or other information you do not want included in a photo.
Connect and take one photo
In your MCP client, add https://letitsee.com/mcp as a remote server, select Streamable HTTP, and complete OAuth sign-in and consent. This connection does not start the phone camera. Open the separate camera page only when you are ready to choose a source; signing in there with the same account links it to your assistant.
On the phone page, allow camera access and, if your browser supports it, use Flip to choose the front or back camera. Check the preview and framing yourself. Then ask your assistant for one fresh photo and say what you need help with. Each capture request makes another still image, so ask for another only when a new view would help. If you already uploaded an image, ask the assistant to use that image instead.
Troubleshooting the phone preview
If the page asks you to sign in, verify that the phone and MCP client use the same account. If there is no preview, check the browser's camera permission and confirm that another page has not taken over the account's active capture page. Tap Reconnect on the page when it asks you to; the service does not silently reopen a camera. If the phone switched apps or locked, return to the page and follow its prompt before asking for another photo.
Example prompt and limitations
The phone camera page does not record audio or save a photo library. Only requested still images are sent to the assistant, and the AI provider may handle those images under its own policies. The assistant cannot choose the phone camera or turn it on for you. Do not rely on image interpretation for medical, safety-critical, or emergency decisions.
Set up without starting a capture
Set up your MCP client with the full tool reference. The separate capture page can replace the active capture page for your account. It does not take a photo by itself. When your source is ready, try:
Take one fresh photo of the connector on my desk. Tell me which side faces up, and point out anything you cannot identify clearly.
