Share a screen or window with an MCP assistant
Use a desktop share for material already on your computer, such as a chart, design, document, or interface. Choose a tab, window, or display in the browser chooser. The assistant gets a screenshot when you request one.
Requirements and MCP setup
Screen sharing requires a desktop browser and operating system that offer a screen, window, or tab choice; available choices vary. No camera or camera permission is needed. Your AI client must support remote MCP over Streamable HTTP, OAuth, and image results.
Add https://letitsee.com/mcp to the client, select Streamable HTTP, and complete OAuth sign-in and consent. Use the same account on the capture page. This connection does not start sharing. Hide unrelated sensitive material before choosing a source.
Select only the view you intend to share
When ready, open the capture page and sign in with the client's account. Click Share screen or window to open the browser chooser. Select a tab or application window when that is enough; choose a full display only if needed. Review the selected source and confirm sharing yourself. LetItSee cannot choose it for you.
Keep the capture page open. Switching to chat does not itself stop a desktop source, though the browser or system may affect it. Ask for one screenshot and name the area and decision you need help with. A window or tab can limit unrelated context.
Troubleshooting and ending a share
If you selected the wrong source, use the page's change-screen control and choose again in the browser chooser. Cancelling that chooser keeps the current source. To stop, use Stop sharing on the page or the browser's sharing control. Ending a screen share never starts a webcam. After reconnecting, the browser requires you to choose the screen source again.
If no screenshot arrives, confirm the page and MCP client use the same account and that the browser still shows the chosen source as shared. Check whether the tab or window was closed, the operating system ended sharing, or another capture page took over the account. Re-select the source yourself if needed; do not assume the previous selection resumed.
Example prompt and limitations
A screenshot is a still image requested by your assistant. Screen sharing does not send microphone, tab, or system audio through LetItSee. Your chosen view may contain private information, so check it before sharing. The assistant cannot start sharing, switch sources, or recover a screenshot from earlier. The AI provider may handle delivered images under its own policies. Do not rely on the assistant's interpretation for medical, safety-critical, or emergency decisions.
Set up without starting a capture
Set up your MCP client with the full tool reference. The separate capture page can replace the active capture page for your account. It does not take a photo by itself. When your source is ready, try:
Take one screenshot of the window I selected. Explain the trend in the chart and tell me which labels are too small to read.
